Conversation Data and Deletion
Reveto stores the conversations it answers, removes message text after a retention period, and deletes Facebook data on request. This covers Messenger, Instagram and the website chat.
What Reveto stores
- The Facebook connection of each person who connected Pages, with its access tokens encrypted
- Connected Pages and their reply settings
- Conversations: the customer's name as Meta provides it, message text and attachments, and when each message was sent
- AI drafts, the knowledge-base sections they used, and whether they were sent
- Questions the knowledge base couldn't answer, which feed Insights
- For the website chat: visitors' messages, drafts, and the contact details visitors choose to leave
Message history retention
For Messenger and Instagram, message text is kept for 90 days by default. You can choose anywhere from 30 to 3650 days. The setting applies to every Page in the company.
- Open Operations and select the 'Messenger' or 'Instagram' tab.
- Click 'Reply settings' (the gear button) next to a Page.
- Under 'Message history', enter the number of days in 'Keep message text for'.
- Save the settings.
After that period, a daily sweep removes the message text, attachments, draft text and the customer's name. Who wrote when, and the questions the AI couldn't answer, are kept so Insights keeps working. Removed messages read 'Message removed after' followed by the number of days. Draft records are deleted entirely after 12 months.
Website chat message text and draft text are removed after 90 days. The unanswered questions and topics behind Insights are kept.
Disconnecting a Page
Disconnecting a Page deletes its stored conversations, messages, drafts and reply settings from Reveto. To stop replies but keep the history, pause the Page instead.
Facebook data deletion requests
If the person who connected Pages removes Reveto in their Facebook settings and asks Facebook to delete their data, Facebook sends Reveto a request. Reveto then deletes every connection that Facebook account made to Reveto workspaces, the Pages it connected with their settings and access tokens, and all conversations, message text and AI drafts for those Pages.
Facebook gives the person a confirmation code and a link to a status page on the Reveto site. The page shows the code, when the request arrived, when it finished and what was removed. If the deletion didn't complete, the page says so and the request is finished by hand.
If someone removes Reveto from Facebook without asking for deletion, nothing is deleted. The connection is marked as needing to be reconnected, and its Pages can't reply until someone reconnects it.
Deleting your account or company
Account deletion has a 10-day grace period, while deleting a company removes its data straight away. Billing records are kept for 7 years as the law requires, and activity logs are anonymized rather than deleted.
